Book Review!

The book or rather short story I'm reviewing is called 1408. I read it from a Stephen King book called Everything's Eventual. The author of course is Stephen King. If you have sky or rent out dvd's often then you may know that it has also been turned into a movie. The genre I would class this as is probably horror/suspense. The words are easy enough to understand but sometimes there will be one or two you will have to look up.Something I noticed was that this book had a lot of foreshadowing in it like as he went to the room the door appeared crooked then straight then crooked again except facing the other way.The way he wrote this is very suspenseful and mindboggling. Its set in a hotel room called 1408 at Hotel Dolphin in New York City. It is basically about an author called Mike Enslin who writes books that are about haunted places which he proves are not really haunted or scary. He then comes to Hotel Dolphin requesting room 1408 because people say it is haunted. In the last 68 years 42 people have died;12 suicides and 3o natural deaths. Mike, not discouraged at all simply believing they are all coincidences stays in the room and lots of crazy stuff happens. The rooms on the 13th floor even though it skipped it jumping from 13th to14th(Hotels rarely have a thirteenth floor usually listing them as 12a/b, skipping straight to the 14th or something along those lines) He talks to his recorder and then things start to get weird. The paintings change and the breakfast menu changes languages. He sets a book on fire so he can get out and when everything is over he gives up reading. He now also sleeps with a nightlight :) I would recommend this to teens (14 and beyond) and adults who like suspense but not to anyone younger unless they are very mature.Even my age (13) is a bit of a stretch for this type of book ;) Though it is short, it is not a light read.
